After narrowly escaping a serious workplace injury back in 2008, Nivek Industries Founder Kevin Cant knew something needed to be done to improve site safety for mining personnel.
Nivek’s debut revolutionary product was launched in 2011. The Tracked Elevating Device (TED) was the world’s first remote-controlled scissor lift, aimed to help reduce hazardous workplace practices, including the need for manual handling during the dismantling of heavy machinery components.

Fondly known as the ‘bigger brother’ of Nivek’s debut release, Big TED comes with an increased lifting capacity while embodying the same low profile and manoeuvrability capabilities of its little brother. With joystick remote operation, unparalleled precision and a rechargeable battery offering up to two hours of continuous operation time, the Big TED is also compatible with a range of Nivek’s specially designed attachments, offering high-powered versatility.
Not only has Nivek’s TED range helped to reduce the number of injuries on mining sites, but the revolutionary Lift Assist (LA40 and LA80) equipment has also made the industry more accessible to personnel of all body types and capabilities.
‘When you consider that the tools themselves weigh 30 to 40 kilograms just to do up a nut or a bolt, our equipment has taken the weight out of the job – that physical requirement has been eliminated.’
